I recently bought a Logitech® Webcam Pro 9000, mainly to use it with DAVID-laserscanner. To my great surprise - and dismay - this otherwise excellent webcam has no tripod mounting screw! Here is a step-by-step tutorial describing how to solve this shortcoming.
Remove the 3 screws closing the middle section of camera stand. Note that one of them is hidden by a rubber cushion. Remove the top cover then the two screws holding the bottom cover on the hinge. Remove the middle screw holding metal weight. All elements separated. Drill a 5mm hole in the metal weight near middle hole, then thread it with a 6.35mm/0.5mm tap. The metal of the weight is very soft, so these operations are easy. Using the hole in the metal weight as pattern, check the centers of holes on top and bottom plastic cover. Drill them with a 6.5mm hole. Reassemble all elements... ...here is the result! |
